Christmas Photos

Today we tried to take a little Christmas picture to send to Kendall. The following pics show our attempts. They are not the best but it will have to work since by the end Addi had had enough.

And I wonder if Addi is my daughter

Thanksgiving

We hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We enjoyed a nice day at my Grandma Buttars. We had a great dinner and enjoyed spending time with family. We only wished that Grandpa, Kendall, and Jenny and Scott could have been with us.
To make sure Addi had a great thanksgiving we gave her a dill pickle. I didn't get many pics but enjoy the faces from Addi.

Hats and Mittens

We got Addi a pair of mittens and hat for the winter. We thought we would try it on and this is the result. A goof. She loves having no clothes on. I guess we will have to work on keeping them on.

Visiting Aunt Jenny

Forever ago, Addi and I took a much needed vacation and saw Aunt Jenny and Uncle Scott. We had a great time and enjoyed the shopping. Chicago was fun to see but we mostly enjoyed spending time with them. We got lucky and had empty flights so it was no big deal getting there. By the time the trip was over we were excited to be home. Eric was double excited. Here are a few pics I took. Sorry but I'm still trying to get use to the idea of taking pics all the time.

Busy, Busy, Busy

As usual life in the Brusman house has been going 90 mph. It seems that the minute we accomplish one thing we are off to the next. Eric and I have been completely busy with work. I always thought that I would have a baby and my clientele was big enough I could work two half days (I know it isn't that much). Boy was I wrong. Right now I have been working 2 to 4 days a week. And I am booked almost to Thanksgiving! It has been completely crazy and it looks like it isn't going to slow down anytime soon. Since I have been working so much, I decided I deserved a vacation, so this week I booked tickets for my mom and I to go to Chicago and see Jenny. We leave next Friday and I am so excited! I am only nervous about the flying with Addi.

Eric has been busy man. He has been working a lot lately. According to his pay stub he has put in 90 hours. They are finishing the SEMA truck so most days he is in IF doing the work. He still loves his calling as 11 year old scout advisor and had a lot of fun pointing out all the boys to me on Sunday during the primary program. On a happy note for me, the BRONCO is sold. We have been trying to sell it for a few months and finally it will be out of my garage. I still cannot believe someone wants to buy it. Here is a picture to see how great and wonderful it is.
There are some changes since this picture. The door are off of it, the back fender is cut off and there are new wheels and tires. So maybe the guy just wanted the wheels and tires cause lets face it there isn't much there.

As for Addi, she is always changing and growing. The other night Eric and I were watching TV while Addi played on the floor. Out of the corner of my eye I saw movement and looked up. Addi was standing up in her rocking chair laughing. She thought it was great. I don't know how my 7 month old thinks this is okay.

But who could tell this face no?

Later that night she was being really ornery. We think she is getting her teeth so she is moody woman. Eric gave her a bink and we began eating. This is what we found. I was completely shocked because this never happens. Very rarely do we get her to fall asleep on her own. So I was jumping for joy.

Finally, I just had to post a pic of Addi eating. She is the messiest eater alive. Especially when dad is feeding her. All I have to say is thank heavens for bathtubs.

Stocking Hats

I just had to post this picture because it reminded me of my brother Kendall. The other day it was about 80 degrees and Addi was playing with one of her stocking hats. In the process Eric put it on her and she loved it. She didn't pull it off at all. This was surprising because lately bows and headbands are gone in 2 seconds. Anyways this is for Kendall and the many years he spent wearing a stocking hat in the middle of the summer.

Walkers are for babies

My mom and dad had a walker from when Kendall and Devin were little. Most of the summer Addi would run around it. I thought it was heaven because she was mobile and couldn't break anything. Well lately that has all come to a head. She now thinks she is a big girl and can walk without the walker. Granted her walking is while she holds onto everything in sight. She can do pretty good until she realizes what she is doing. Here is a pic of what she thinks about the walker. ( to her it is a jungle gym.)

Crawling

Addi has been accomplishing a lot of milestones lately. Over labor day weekend she learned to crawl up stairs and ever since i have been pulling my hair out. Every time I turn around she is racing up the stairs. She has already fallen down once and had carpet burn on her nose. It was really sad. Our friends little girl asked what happened to baby Addi's nose. She was really worried. This video is at my grandma and grandpas just after labor day.

The following pics are just the other day. I was in the kitchen cleaning it and I couldn't see Addi. This is what I found.

6 Months

Yesterday, Addi turned 6 months old. We took the dreaded trip to the doctor and here are her stats:
Height: 29 inches (100%)
Weight: 17.6 pounds (83%)
Head: 16.5 inches (35%)
Needless to say she is a tall girl. We laughed because she has stayed consistent with her percentages everytime. We also gave the nurses a workout since Addi felt the need to do sit ups during her shots. We have one strong cookie.
In the last few months we have also reached some milestones. THey include sitting up alone, crawling, standing up and driving mom crazy. Since she continues to change daily and the time seems to go to fast I thought I would share some of my favorite photos from the last six months.

Time Flies When You're Having Fun

Well life has been a little hectic in our house for the last few months. I kept thinking I should post but with the craziness of the summer and many visitors, I never seemed to have the time to post. Our summer was great but looking back I wonder where in the world it went. It seems like yesterday I was wishing it would stop snowing and now it could start again. Here are some notes of what happened to catch you up.
  1. Aunt Jenny came to visit. She mainly came to say goodbye to Kendall but also enjoyed every minute with Addi. We miss her lots and wish she could come back. Fortunately for Addi, packages come regularly with lots of cute clothes and fun.
  2. Kendall left on his mission to Portugal. With his leaving the family has entered into a new phase. That is Devin rules the house. Whatever Dev says the rest follow.
  3. Grandma and Grandpa Brusman came to visit. Luckily they got to come out a lot this summer. It gave us great time to play and enjoy their company
  4. Eric turned 27. On his birthday he stated that he was nearing 30 and thought he was going to die. I tried to soothe his worries with the knowledge that he still had three years.
  5. Aunt Christy and Uncle Ryan had their baby Makayla. We were very excited to add a new cousin to the growing family. Addi thinks she is a great toy and should be grabbed and pulled. I am really worried what she will think when the second kid comes along. Thankfully we have about ten years for that.
  6. Many trips to the cabin. We always enjoy this
  7. Finally I celebrated by 24 birthday by going to the diesel drags (diesel races). What I do for my husband. I can't completely complain because I did go shopping but seemed to be stuck buying clothes for Addi. It is a lot of fun to shop for other people I have decided.

Sorry there are no pictures. I seem to never bring my camera to take pictures of key events but someday I will be better.

Addi's First Video Post!

For Weeks now we have been trying to catch Addi's little "giggle" on camera. It seems that everytime she starts to giggle and we pull out the camera, she gives us the "Blank Stare".

The second segment is of her eating here now Third Otter Pop. She LOVES them!!!

Finally, the third segment is from last week, Eric was changing her diaper and she decided to roll around on her blanket then she decided that this was a perfect opportunity to empty her now seemingly large bladder on her cute little blanket.

Enjoy!

Slacker

I have been a complete slacker when it comes to blogging. Our life has just been extremely busy with many changes and visitors. It seemed like most of May we spent sick and not feeling well at all. That flew by and then at the end of the month we had visitors. It started with Eric's parents coming. They were very busy starting Ray-Core and setting up the plant so we didn't get to spend a lot of time with them. We spent memorial day in Weston at Grandma and Grandpa Phillips. We always like to spend time with them. My cousin Sammy came up to see Addi. I think Addi thought she was really good. We also had a milestone for Addi just before we went to Weston, she rolled over. I almost died because I was completely convinced she was not old enough to do that.
After Eric's parents left Jenny and Scott came on their last trip before reality sets in for them. They moved to Milwaukee right before they came and were enjoying June with their families. While they were in Idaho, we went to the cabin and spent a very cold time their. I don't think the weather knows how to be warm at times. Addi was really good as we went hiking and shopping in Jackson.
Since Jenny and Scott left, Eric and I have been house shopping. The big concern we have is when and where to buy a house. We have found many houses that we love but haven't decided what the best is for us. Houses now cost so much money that it scares me to spend that much money. It seems funny that buying a $50,000 truck wouldn't bother me but a house would. I guess we will see what happens.
We also had some big changes happen. Yesterday my dad was put in as a bishop of a married student ward at BYU-I. It was a little weird because it is the ward Eric and I first went to when we were married. It is also ironic because my dad's counselors are people I had classes with. I was a little worried because it was a class that my temper showed just a little bit. It will be a great experience for my mom and dad to experience.
Just as a side note, there is only one more month until Kendall leaves on his mission. For some reason I don't know if I should be excited or sad. Anyways, I will try to keep this posted better and as soon as I have a few minutes, I will post some pictures.

Addi

Well it has been a while since I posted pictures. Life has been completely crazy with work that we very seldom seem to have enough time to get everything else done. Here is a fun picutre of silly Addi. She was just a little mad at me for leaving her in the car seat at Grandmas. Some how she moved just a little too much. We go to the doctor next week for her 2 month check up and are excited to see the changes. Already, she loves to stand, tries to lift herself up, and is more than happy to try and roll over. I think my baby is growing up way to fast.

Blessing Day

This weekend we blessed Addi. It was a very special day. We enjoyed every part of it and loved all the new experiences. For me, it was really special because she was blessed in my blessing dress. It was interesting to see the similarities between the two of us in the same dress. We also had the experience of having a lot of family and friends together for the day. It was a lot of fun to see the great-grandma's experience Addi. Se was a sweetheart and slept the whole time. Although Grandpa Phillips decided to peek and said she was semi-awake during the blessing. It was a really great day. I need to thank my mom for all her help in getting things ready and organized. Enjoy this pics. (Jen these are for you especially)

Changes

Things have been changing a lot around the Brusman Home. We are finding that life seems to get sweeter and sweeter everyday. Addi is a lot of fun to have around and we are finding that a four week old baby is more fun than a newborn baby. The changes seem to come every minute. I'm starting to realize that I won't have a sweet innocent baby for long.

Along with adding another addition to the family other things also changed. I lost my first baby. A week ago, Eric made the executive decision and traded in my G6 for a GXP. I was about to cry as I left the dealership and saw my cute car sitting there. Unfortuantely a coupe doesn't work with a baby. Maybe someday when I'm old I'll get another cute car. Now I have a mom car that I'm not sure I like (hence the reason for no picture) but Eric loves becuase it has tons of power. He also likes that he can make it have even more power. I still don't know why I married a man who loves cars.

We also had some exciting news when Kendall (my little brother) got his mission call. He is going to Portugal. Luckily he doesn't leave until July. I say luckily because I am starting to realize how hard it will be to say goodbye for a few years. I'm not sure if the family will survive with no snide comments from him. I also think Devin will be lost without his side kick. Hopefully a mission will straighten out these boys.

Eric was convinced his days of playing had ended when Addi came, somehow they haven't. In the four weeks Addi has been around Eric has gone snowmobiling over half of them. Somehow my brothers find ways to make Eric go play and Nat stay with the baby at Grandma's. This is their last trip to Island Park. They all said it was by far the best trip yet.

Addi is also changing very quickly. We went to her two week appointment the end of March and found out she gained a pound and a half. The doctor was very surprised at how much weight she gained and how alert and strong she was. I could have told him she was strong based on how sore my ribs were while she was baking. Here are a few pictures from the last couple weeks. This first one is on Easter Sunday. She got all dressed up and went to church with Grandma and Grandpa Buttars. She didn't even know she went to church because she slept the whole time.

She decided my back was a really good place. She got to pull and eat my hair.

Here is a picture we got with her eyes actually open. This doesn't happen all the time.
One of her favorite past times. Sleeping and suckin' the binkie
By the way Jen, she loves her little coat.
